Is Cristiano Ronaldo’s reign at Manchester United coming to an end after Dortmund links?

Is Cristiano Ronaldo’s reign at Manchester United coming to an end after Dortmund links?

Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered to Dortmund by his agent.

The Cristiano Ronaldo saga continues after yet another link surrounding him with a move to German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund. The star-studded Portuguese striker has been wanting a move away from Manchester United after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.

He had been previously linked to a lot of clubs: Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea but all of the clubs have confirmed that they aren’t interested in him.

With rumors from CBS Sports and BILD, that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has also tried offering him to Dortmund but the Dortmund CEO Watzke has confirmed the news as false and has also added that they have no interest in signing him. He stated that Ronaldo is too old to be considered and that his wage is way too high and almost double of what the highest-paid players at Dortmund make.

Cristiano Ronaldo might remain at Manchester United despite the club’s recent slump

Borussia Dortmund has signed Sebastien Haller, Karim Adeyemi, and recently Anthony Modeste and with Donyell Malen already in the club, it looks far from necessary for Dortmund to add yet another striker to their squad. So there is no chance of Ronaldo moving to the Signal Iduna Park.

Ronaldo signed for Manchester United last summer after his three-year spell in Juventus and managed to score 24 goals in 39 matches throughout all competitions. Despite his brilliance and goals, Manchester went trophyless and could only manage a sixth-place finish in the Premier League failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Despite playing in the first two league matches, Ronaldo still seems far from settled at Manchester United and wants to try his luck someplace else. United has started the season in the worst possible way having lost to both Brighton and Brentford in the first two games and is currently at the bottom of the league. Ronaldo feels that Manchester United is still not prepared enough for the season and he wants to get to UEFA Champions League football.
