Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC will be in dire need of a miracle when they face Real Madrid tomorrow at Santiago Bernabeu for the Champions League Round of 16 Leg. Klopp would want his main man Mohamed Salah to be on point at the game. Liverpool will once again look at their phenomenal Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah to bring out the best in him for the massive win. Madrid thrashed Livepool 5-2 in the First leg at Anfield.
Salah has been average this season but has faced quite a few unprecedented results with the club. The recent one being a shock 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth. Although Salah has scored 22 goals and 11 assists in 38 games this season so far. It’s his body language like the one in the Bournemouth game which seems to be concerning for the club and the fans. Many think that it’s time for the club to part ways with Salah and use the money to fund Klopp’s Liverpool restructuring.
Although his performances are in question this season, Mohamed Salah has been the blue-eyed boy for the Red fans for more than half a decade. Klopp and his staff would also want to believe that Salah can show some resurgence as he did a couple of weeks back against Manchester United where Salah scored two of the seven goals.

Salah’s 2022-23 season so far in a nutshell
Ever since the departure of Sadio Mane from Liverpool, Salah seems to have lost form. The pressure of performing seems to have caught him off guard and has affected his form in a very dangerous way.
In the last five seasons, Salah has had an average of 31.2 goals and 12.6 assists each season. But he hasn’t been silent all season though. In a few matches, he has shown his real class. For instance, in the match against Manchester United, he not only scored twice, Salah provided two assists, reminding everyone that he might be having bad form but is still able to get a few cameo appearances even then.
With his stats dropped, ever so slightly, Salah needs to find his breath of fresh air and has to get back to his form today if he wants to keep his and Liverpool’s hopes of another Champions League trophy alive. It is to be seen whether Klopp starts him today even after not so impressive run this season or injects him into the game the mid-way.
How might Liverpool line up against Real Madrid tomorrow night.
Liverpool is currently out of key players like former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, club captain Jordan Henderson (illness) and Stefan Bajcetic (thigh injury), as per the reports by BBC. A few others like Joe Gomez, Naby Keita, and Luiz Diaz might also be added to the list due to injury as per the reports.
Madrid has won three of their last five games at home in all competitions. Liverpool fans won’t be optimistic heading into the game, having lost four of their last five games against the Spanish giants. The Reds’ last win came in 2009 – with Andrea Dossena, Steven Gerrard, and Fernando Torres all scoring in a 4-0 win in the Champions League last-16 stage. Mohamed Salah is the club’s top scorer this season with 22. The Egyptian has scored three goals in his last five for the Reds.
Liverpool, as reported, might start with a traditional 4-3-3, with Allison Becker in between the sticks. Klopp reportedly might start with Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo in the front. James Milner, Diego Jota, and Fabinho Tavares reportedly might be in the middle of the park. And Trent Alexander Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Andy Robertson as the probable back four as reported.
Klopp reportedly said in a recent interview that he is dreaming to defeat Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu despite having as little as 1% of a chance. Can Liverpool rob Madrid of their last trophy?
