Cristiano Ronaldo yet again came as the saviour for Manchester United after he scored a classic volley with his right foot to cancel Marcos Alonso’s goal two minutes before. Chelsea took the lead in the 60th minute from a cross from Reece James but United was fast to respond from Ronaldo’s 17th goal of the PL season. He has scored 8 goals in his last 5 matches and added one more to make it 22 goals in all competitions. A Nemanja Matic-lofted ball was burst into the nets from Ronaldo’s volley which made the game end in a draw.

Manchester United managed to get a point against Chelsea who has been the dominant side this evening. Chelsea dominated United’s defence from the first minute but failed to capitalize on their chances.

Recce James was inarguably the best player of the match both defensively and in attacks. He flooded the United’s defence with inch-perfect crosses and passes one of which was converted by Marcos Alonso in the 60th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo was disappointed with the goal so he decided to respond quickly and scored his 17th Premier League goal from Matic’s pass just after two minutes.

Tuchel’s men missed a number of opportunities that would have given them a comprehensive victory over a dreadful United. Rangnick couldn’t ask for more but managed to hold onto a 1-1 scoreline after his side was dominated brutally by Kante and co. Manchester United stays at the sixth spot while Chelsea extended their lead at the third spot. Manchester United will next play Brentford at home while Chelsea will square off against Everton on Sunday.
