“This is a massive job. It’s the biggest club in the world and he is taking over when they’re in disarray. He needs to bring in as many players as he can because this team is not going to get you in the top four.”

They need to bring certain players in – (Frenkie) De Jong at Barcelona, he’s a good footballer – and then you move on from there. They need at least three or four players just to make a challenge for fourth place.”

Other clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham have already roped in new players to strengthen their squad while Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez for €80 million. Manchester United are yet to make any signings as talks with Barcelona still heading nowhere.

Reports suggest that Manchester United’s ace, Cristiano Ronaldo is also left frustrated with the club’s lack of transfer activity and will consider his future at the club as well if the situation doesn’t change. Eric ten Hag surely will have a mountain of work at his hands, as he begins his tenure at the helm at Manchester United.
