Manchester United fans and online users responded to Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund on a six-month loan, expressing a range of mixed reactions. Sancho had a forgetful two-year stint in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old English winger made a move to the Premier League giants Manchester United for a reported transfer fee of £73 million, on a five-year contract, with an option for an additional year. Despite his success in the Bundesliga, his performance at Old Trafford fell short of expectations. With 12 goals and 6 assists in 82 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, he disappointed both the club and its supporters. Sancho is now returning to Dortmund on a six-month loan.

Despite the player facing difficulties scoring and spending extended periods on the bench in the EPL, he is expected to make a quick impact on Borussia Dortmund, currently positioned 5th in the Bundesliga. While at United, he also had an additional fallout with the club’s manager Erik ten Hag. The manager said that Sancho was not up to the level in training, leading to him getting dropped from the squad. Sancho alleged that he was being made a “scapegoat”, resulting in disciplinary measures from United.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund has agreed to cover a portion of Sancho’s salary over the next six months, along with an extra £4 million package. While playing in the Bundesliga previously, the winger netted 50 goals in 137 appearances and was twice named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
