Manchester United ‘outcast’ Jadon Sancho hasn’t played a game for Erik ten Hag‘s side since August 2023. The 23-year-old ‘called out’ Ten Hag on social media, claiming that he had effectively lied to supporters. The youngster has been removed from the squad as Ten Hag demanded an apology from the Englishman. As per latest reports, Sancho is heavily pushing for a move away from the Red Devils, and Manchester United fans are relieved to see him go.
Sancho’s unwillingness to apologize and Ten Hag’s reluctance to budge has resulted in a standstill. With the situation standing exactly where it was 5 months ago, a move away would be the best course of action for both parties. As per Fabrizio Romano, the winger is keen on a return to former club Borussia Dortmund. While the finances regarding the move are yet to be finalized, it is understood that Sancho is pushing for a loan move.
A permanent deal will not be feasible financially, due to the club’s inability to match his high wage at United. Sancho is currently on a £300K-a-week salary and has 4 years left on his contract. The player believes that Dortmund is the ideal environment for him to get back to his best.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the deal is “more than concrete” at this stage. With the January transfer window wide open, fans can expect a decision regarding his club in the near future.
Fans breathe sigh of relief as Jadon Sancho set to leave the club
Both Manchester United and Jadon Sancho have not had the best of years in 2023. The £73 million worth of player failed to live up to his billing as the ‘tussle’ with Ten Hag magnified the frustrations and tensions in the squad. With news of his imminent departure coming out, fans have expressed their joy and relief at the same. A fan commented that he couldn’t wait to see Sancho leave Old Trafford.
Others said that Sancho will return to form the moment he leaves United. Others called the decision ‘well overdue’ and wished it had come sooner. A few urged him to leave as soon as possible when one particular fan chose to defend Sancho. He said that it was United who were in the wrong and that they ruined his career with the decision to remove him from the squad.
One of the most liked comments stated how he managed to make around 3 million at the club without doing anything of significance. As for United, the club are likely to be silent in the transfer window, with Ten Hag also mentioning the same in a recent interaction with the press. The deal is on, and both clubs are currently negotiating the salary coverage and loan fee.
