It has been over three months since Manchester United star Jadon Sancho was ‘exiled’ from the club after a public dispute with head coach Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has not yet closed the door on a potential return for the Englishman, as understood from recent comments during a news conference. “It is up to him” answered Ten Hag as to whether Sancho will ever return to the squad.

Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag got into a row on social media after the former denied Ten Hag’s claim as to why the player was dropped from the squad. Even though Ten Hag explained that Sancho failed to reach the ‘desired’ level in training, the latter replied on social media that these claims were ‘completely untrue’. Sancho has been isolated from the first team ever since, and a return is unlikely.

It is about a culture and every player has to match certain standards and it was about that. He knows what he has to do if he wants to return.
Erik ten Hag said during the pre-match press conference.

However, rumors are that Sancho may well be on his way to his former club Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window. The transfer may also involve a swap deal with Dortmund player Donyell Malen.

Sancho ‘secretly’ hoping for Manchester United’s return

Jadon Sancho is reportedly still garnering hopes of a potential return to the Manchester starting XI. Even though the player has not given up hope in terms of making a return, links to former club Borussia Dortmund are still at large. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the move is financially feasible. Sancho joined United on a £73 million deal and is currently earning £350,000 per week.

‘I am being made a scapegoat,” said Jadon Sancho as he went public with a disagreement with head coach Erik ten Hag. These words cost him dearly, as the player has then been ‘banished’ from first-team training. He has yet to make an appearance since August and may very well be leaving Old Trafford soon.

However, if the player does, move to Dortmund, he will have to give up a major share of his £350K salary. The German giants are unwilling to match the same, given his possible return. Even though Sancho is ‘training like a beast’ during his time ‘off’, Ten Hag has said that he has ‘no remorse’ following his decision to take off Sancho from the squad.
