Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti would gladly have a go at a career in golf, as per a recent interaction with reporters. The 64-year-old jokingly claimed that he would ‘walk on foot’ to Saudi instead of taking a flight if an offer similar to that made to Spanish golfer Jon Rahm presented itself. Ancelotti is currently the head coach at Real Madrid, with his team sitting in first.

Jon Rahm surprised the golf world with a £450-million-a-year switch to LIV Golf from the TGL League and PGA Tour, founded by Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. Real Madrid’s boss praised Rahm as the “best of all,” despite admitting he’s “no golf expert.”

On foot. On foot. I’m walking, I don’t need to take a flight. It’s a joke. The world is changing. And it will change. It’s no surprise to anyone. Jon Rahm is very good. I’m not a golf expert, but Jon Rahm seems to me to be the best of all.
Carlo Ancelotti said in a pre-match interview

When questioned about the possibility of a move to Saudi Arabia for a comparable salary, Ancelotti playfully mentioned walking instead of flying. He clarified that it was a jest, emphasizing that such developments, like John Rahm’s move, are indicative of a changing world.

He added that the golfer’s move to Saudi is ‘no surprise’ as well. Ancelotti also clarified that no one from Saudi Arabia is yet to contract the Italian. He said:

No, they have not called me and I live in the present. The present is very good.

Ancelotti talks about a potential move to Saudi Arabia

Carlo Ancelotti has been in charge of Real Madrid for the past 3 years. The Italian’s contract is set to expire in 2024 and a move to the Brazil national team is all but confirmed. Amidst chatter and speculation regarding the manager’s future, a reporter explored the possibility of a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

When asked about the same, Ancelotti replied:

I have another idea that is not that right now. I have another idea that is not that right now. I have never looked at money, because I grew up in a family in which money was not important. And the truth is that I have money. For me the important thing is to feel good, it could be that one day I will feel good in Saudi Arabia, but for now, I feel good here.

Subsequently, he added that he grew up in a family where money was never important. He admitted that he has always had money. He also commented that the important thing for him has always been to ‘feel good’. However, Ancelotti did not extinguish the possibility of a move to Saudi.

A quick look at Ancelotti’s past reveals his history with ‘money’ and luxury. In an interview given by Alexandre Pato, the Brazilian revealed that he used to turn up to AC Milan training in a helicopter. He used to live in Parma and would arrive for training in a helicopter flown by his wife. Pato compared him to the likes of ‘James Bond’ and said that if anyone lived with style, it was Ancelotti.
