It seems like Jude Bellingham just can’t stop scoring, as he scored his 12th goal in the League against Real Betis. The English Midfielder has scored 16 goals ever since he joined the Spanish giants. With yet another win, Real Madrid tops the league as well, but Girona is still one point behind.

Bellingham’s goal came in the 53rd minute. After intercepting the ball in the left wing, he played it to Brahim Diaz and ran into the box. Spotting his run, Diaz chipped the ball above the Betis defense and found the 20-year-old. Bellingham received the ball on his chest, controlled it, and hit it past Rui Silva to open the scoring.

This goal meant Bellingham equalized the record set by a Real Madrid legend, Cristiano Ronaldo. When Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009, he scored 12 goals in his first 14 La Liga games. Bellingham has now equalized the same feat, getting himself in the record books with the legend.

Unfortunately, the goal did not ensure a victory, as Aitor Ruibal scored a goal just 11 minutes later. Running in from the right wing, he was not pressed by any Madrid player and just took a shot from 25 yards out. The ball found itself in the top left corner, far away from Andriy Lunin’s reach.

Both sides failed to score later in the game, with the game finishing 1-1. Real Madrid dominated possession with 63% but managed only 2 shots on target. Meanwhile, Betis had 16 shots with 6 on target but needed a long-range goal from Ruibal to score.

Fans in awe of Jude Bellingham

Fans on Twitter had only praises for Jude Bellingham after his wonder strike. Fans praised his technique and finishing ability to finish the goal. He was called “generational” and a “baller” after his goal. Some joked about how they were tired of him scoring all the time, while rival fans appreciated his knack for scoring. Some even went as far as comparing him to Scott McTominay, a midfielder who has been regularly scoring for Manchester United.
