In another dominant show of strength, as Manchester City rail Bournemouth 6-1, it is a ‘hilarious’ clip involving Julian Alvarez that has caught the internet tickling. During one of the goal celebrations, as the camera panned toward the Argentinian, it became visible that he lost one of his teeth.
The Cityzens beating teams in the Premier League with huge margins have become such a ‘business as usual’ thing that rather than the scoreline a clip is running rounds on social media. Following the team’s second goal, scored by Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese noticed that his teammate Julian Alvarez was missing a front tooth. Soon enough, he pointed the same to the Argentinian who was in a celebratory mood over his team’s goal. The incident was captured on 4k.
As all the teammates were surrounding the goalscorer Bernardo Silva, many fans online noticed the incoming Erling Haaland. Subsequently, this led them to believe that it was the Norwegian Viking’s arm that took Alvarez’s tooth. However, upon further looking one can see that the young Argentinian was missing the tooth even before Haaland was there in the frame.
Amidst the talks and the jokes, it’s evident from the video that Alvarez didn’t mind ‘losing a tooth’. This shows his dedication to the team and the faithful at the Etihad witnessed it tonight. No doubt, why Pep Guardiola is impressed with his young star.
Jeremy Doku shines as Manchester City win 6-1 against Bournemouth
Julian Alvarez is not the only one making Pep Guardiola smile lately. The whole squad is fulfilling that duty. Even more so, it is the new signing Jeremy Doku who has stepped up his game to get in the good books of his Spanish gaffer.
On the night when Manchester City put 6 past Bournemouth, it was the new signing, Doku who stole the show. Upon the initial ‘eye test’ the French scored a goal while assisting another 4. In addition to being a constant threat on the wing, cutting inside into the box with a blistering pace.
Now, looking at his numbers, he was just too good. Doku had 3 shots on target (converting one) as well as 5 key passes. He was also one of the busiest forward-lying players for City, as he touched the ball a total of 55 times.
Meanwhile, after Doku opened the goal floodgates for the Sky Blues in the 30th minute, it was no stopping them after that. A brace for Bernardo Silva, a goal each for Manuel Akanji and Phil Foden, and Nathan Ake putting the cherry on the cake with the 6th goal of the evening was humiliation enough for the Cherries.
For now, the defending Premier League champs go on top of the table with 27 points from 11 games as Arsenal lost their first game of the season, 1-0, to Newcastle. Yet, Tottenham have a chance to take the top spot if they beat Chelsea on Monday. Things are heating up at the table’s top half!
