There has been a long-standing debate among football fans all around the world over who is a better EPL manager, between Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola. New statistics suggest that the German holds a slight advantage.
Premier League’s official social media account shared a recent post, which featured an interesting record made by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The former Dortmund boss had surprisingly given 45 Premier League debuts to players since his first Liverpool match in October 2015. In his eight-and-a-half-year stint at Anfield, he signed 37 new players and also provided an opportunity for young academy talents to flourish in the team.
This recent statistic places Klopp ahead of his Manchester City counterpart, Pep Guardiola. Despite making approximately 52 signings during his eight-year tenure, Guardiola provided fewer EPL debuts to new players. Klopp’s era at Liverpool witnessed the emergence of a new generation of Premier League stars, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Curtis Jones, Ibrahima Konate, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
This amazing statistic also put Jurgen Klopp ahead of any other manager of the current era, including Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino. The German manager’s records at Liverpool are unparalleled, making him one of the greatest managers of the Reds.
