Arsenal are nearing a deal with Chelsea to buy forward Kai Havertz for around £65 million. The clubs are currently working to formalize the format of the agreement, including potential installments and add-ons. However, personal agreements have been agreed upon, and if all goes as planned, a medical examination will be conducted prior to the transfer being accomplished.

During this transfer window, Chelsea is likely to conduct a clearout. The club spent a record £600 million on new signings last year in a massive splurge. Todd Bohely, the new club owner, has been in charge of this. Chelsea is now looking to sell players in order to balance its books. This is done to stay under the Financial Fair Play (FFP) guidelines.

Havertz has made 139 appearances for Chelsea since signing from Bayer Leverkusen three years ago in a move for up to £90 million ($113.8 million). He has scored 32 goals and provided 15 assists. Havertz played as primarily a striker for Chelsea last season, scoring nine times in 47 outings across all competitions.

In addition to Havertz, Arsenal is in talks with West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.  A bid worth up to £90 million — a £75 million fee plus £15 million in add-ons — was rejected by their Premier League opponents, but Arsenal is moving closer to the amount that West Ham is hoping to reach if its captain leaves.

The fate of holding midfielder Thomas Partey is uncertain following a significant dip in form in the last third of the 2022/23 season. With the Gunners interested in Declan Rice and Romeo Lavia, Partey’s position in the team might be jeopardized this summer. As a result, Arsenal is willing to negotiate for the player.

According to recent sources, three Saudi Arabian teams have expressed interest in signing Partey. Al Nassr, Al Ahli, and Al Khaleej are all interested in the Ghana international, whose contract with Mikel Arteta’s team expires at the end of June. The representatives of the players are talking with the parties.

Partey’s departure appears to be imminent, following reports of a disagreement with Mikel Arteta. Last season, there were ‘continuous conflicts’ between player and manager, according to reports, therefore the door was left open for a possible departure. Arsenal has set a fee of £30 million for the player.
