After drawing with Inter Milan at Camp Nou, Barcelona is looking at elimination from the Champions League. Barcelona entered their Group C meeting with just one victory after losing to Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in their first two games. Gerard Pique made a really bad mistake.
In order to advance to the knockout rounds, they needed to win. They drew 3-3 with Inter in Catalonia, though, thus they were unable to achieve the desired outcome. Barcelona took the lead after Ousmane Dembele’s goal in the 40th minute.
However, Inter changed the course of the match after the break. Five minutes after the break, Gerard Pique unintentionally gave Nicolo Barella the equaliser. Gerard Pique appeared to be nearly certain to head the ball away from danger when it was swung into the box.
Pique, though, experienced a brief moment of insanity as he let go of the ball, probably believing that there was no Inter player behind him. Pique made a mistake, which Barella fully capitalised on as the Italian midfielder made a beautiful touch before putting the ball in the back of the net.
After taking advantage of another shoddy home defence, Inter went ahead in the 63rd minute. Martinez successfully controlled a cross-field pass, made a cut inside, and then unleashed a shot through both posts.
