Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne made his pick for the top 3 midfielders ever. While featuring in a show for Sky Sports, the midfield maestro was asked to pick his top 3 midfielders ever. The Man City star named Andrés Iniesta, Luka Modrić and Zinedine Zidane. For Kevin, the French superstar was top followed by Luka Modrić and Iniesta. De Bruyne thought of himself as a forward and attached himself to more attacking-minded players as he told Sky Sports.
De Bruyne has massive respect for all three players and considers Zidane the best of the bunch. The Belgian’s season was cut short following a serious injury during the Burnley-Man City game. So, he is expected to miss at least 4 months according to Pep Guardiola. The Man City coach also said that surgery is necessary for the player.
The player is believed to have had a relapse of the same hamstring injury that he suffered in the UCL final. His recovery will determine his return. The defending champions face Sheffield United in the Premier League next and currently sit 2nd in the Prem, with 2 wins in 2.
Pep tasked with finding Kevin De Bruyne ‘replacement’ following his injury

After De Bruyne went out with a serious injury against Burnley, Pep Guardiola has been tasked with figuring out a team dynamic to make the midfield function in the absence of the star midfielder. After missing out on the UEFA Super Cup as well, De Bruyne will be sidelined for at least 4 months after revealing that the player will undergo surgery. Guardiola has implemented both Kovacic and Foden as potential replacements in midfield, with the Englishman edging selection.
Kovacic impressed in the Super Cup, but Foden has been consistently putting out commendable performances in the heart of midfield. However, Guardiola has to make a decision regarding who will function in the KDB role, especially for important matches as the season progresses. Phil Foden is expected to start the match against Sheffield on Sunday.
