Many players will miss the FIFA World Cup 2022 due to injuries

FIFA World Cup

The holding of a Fifa World Cup in the middle of many major leagues’ domestic seasons was always going to be problematic for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the tendency for players to miss out due to injury. Even if a few players missing the tournament is nothing new, the problem is made worse this time since club competitions will continue up to a week before Qatar 2022 kicks off, packing in more games and giving players less time to recover.

Unfortunately, a large number of names have already been ruled out, and more are constantly being added to the list of athletes battling against time to regain fitness.
