The Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has stunned the high authorities of the club by sending a formal letter regarding his decision about not triggering his one-year player side contract extension for the next summer. Mbappe is heavily linked with a move away from the French capital.

This decision of Mbappe would allow him to leave the club in the summer of 2024 as a free agent. PSG is not happy with this decision of the player however the club does not have many options except to convince him to sign a new lucrative contract. Mbappe was blocked from moving to Real Madrid by a humongous contract.

Kylian Mbappe had the deadline to trigger his contract extension till July 31. But now with this decision of the player, the club would be in a great loss if Mbappe leaves PSG next summer. As per reports, Paris Saint Germain would not allow the French player to leave as a free agent in 2024. And would sell the player in this summer transfer window as many big clubs including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Real Madrid will be in the race to sign him.

Despite the interest of all the big clubs, the most favored destination for the Frenchman would be Real Madrid. As the club was ready to pay a £20 million salary after tax and a signing bonus of more than £100 million.

The French player also praised Florentino Perez to sign him last year. In an interview conducted in May 2022, the French player said, “I have lots of respect for [Perez] and for Real Madrid. They wanted to do a lot to make me happy. So I thank them for that. I’d also like to thank Real fans. I hope they’ll understand the fact I’ve chosen to stay [at PSG].”

Paris Saint Germain was one of the few clubs that signed great players like David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos, and many other players. The club has been known for its dominance in Ligue 1, however, they have failed to win the Champions League.

However after players like Ibrahimovic and Beckham left the club, PSG still managed to sign the Brazilian star Neymar Jr and the French youngster Kylian Mbappe in 2017. The club also made a Galtico signing of Lionel Messi in 2021.

Till now PSG has been the only club to have players like Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, and Ramos altogether in one squad. But due to recent controversies that happened because of the fans. Lionel Messi left the club in 2023 and Neymar is also speculating to make a move to Manchester United after the fans protested him in front of his house.

Sergio Ramos is also on the verge of leaving the club and Mbappe has also decided to not extend his contract with the club for the next year. And if Mbappe too leaves the club PSG would be in a great loss for the next few years.
