Once dubbed by many as a ‘match made in heaven’, Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe are shaping up to be the very opposite. There is no doubt surrounding the Frenchman’s footballing prowess and ability to weave magic on the pitch. However, in spite of their incessant pursuit of the superstar, the Los Blancos have failed to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

As per latest reports surrounding the saga, Madrid have encountered yet another hurdle in their quest for Mbappe. It is understood that Mbappe’s camp are not convinced with the deal offered by Florentino Perez and have therefore not committed to a decision. With the 25-year-old’s PSG contract set to expire in June, he is free to negotiate with other clubs regarding his future.

However, in light of the recent development, the move has now gone into the balance, yet again. Mbappe’s representatives pointed out that the offer made by Madrid was lesser than the initial plan they put forward in May 2022. On the other hand, PSG have countered Madrid’s approach with two deals – a short term plan as well as a longer alternative.

While Madrid cannot equal or better PSG’s offer, Florentino Perez will play a crucial role if they are to eventually lure him out of Paris. The Saga will continue.

It was only a week ago that news had broke surrounding the Frenchman’s future at Madrid. While many, including Vinicius Jr. were convinced of his arrival, the deal has seemingly taken a ‘U-turn’. A fan called Mbappe ‘cringe’ and angrily said that he should make up his mind. Many had already accepted that Mbappe isn’t coming to the club and that they should start ignoring Mbappe links.

Others asked the club to go for Erling Haaland instead of constantly being embarrassed by Mbappe. Some even said that the club don’t need a player like Mbappe and that he will be detrimental to the development and dynamic of other players. Opposition fans didn’t let this opportunity pass either. While Madrid are revered for their transfer policy of never knocking twice, they have ‘knocked’ several times, and that too, after being rejected multiple times, said a fan.

It is no surprise that Mbappe is having a stellar season in Paris, scoring 30 goals in all competitions. He is also the Ligue 1 top scorer with 20 league goals. PSG have been drawn against Real Sociedad, who are a relatively easier opponent as compared to Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the previous seasons. Real Madrid on the other hand, are doing ‘fine’ without Kylian Mbappe, with their 5 point lead at the top of La Liga testament to their fans’ claim.
