Laliga rejects Barcelona’s try to register five newplayers including Robert Lewandowski ahead of 2022-23 season: Reports
Barcelona has been extremely active in the transfer market despite their dire financial situation, signing Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Jules Kounde.
According to sources, La Liga reportedly objected to their attempts to add their new players to the new system because they required more funding. Additionally, Sergio Roberto and Ousmane Dembele, the two players who agreed to shorter-term contracts after their original agreements expired, cannot yet be registered.
The Catalan club is in a similar situation to last year, when it was necessary for players like Gerard Pique to accept significant pay cuts in order for new recruits Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia, and Rey Manaj to play.
Barcelona lands in same trouble like previous season

According to sources, Barca urged Pique and Sergio Busquets to repeat the gesture while selling players like Clement Lenglet, Dani Alves, Philippe Coutinho, Francisco Trincao, and Oscar Mingueza, and Riqui Puig. Depay, Neto, Samuel Umtiti, Sergio Dest, Miralem Pjanic, Alex Collado, and Martin Braithwaite are still deadwood, but the latter is putting up a fight. However, it probably won’t be enough, therefore according to reports, Barca has been instructed to use a fourth “economic lever.”
Speaking at Lewandowski’s unveiling on Friday, president Joan Laporta said: “We have done our job well and we think that we meet all the requirements. All of the documentation has already been sent and we are waiting for a response from La Liga.
“There could be some disparity, but as we understand that there will be no problems because we have met everything [all of the requirements] and they will be able to register the footballers. If that isn’t the case, we are prepared to apply a fourth [economic] lever and we will do so.”
