Nice is owned by Ineos Group CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Sir Jim bought the club back in 2019 for a paltry £88 million. The club’s current state will comfort the Manchester United fans as Sir Jim is also one of the front runners to acquire Manchester United

Manchester United has been put up for sale by the Glazer family earlier this year 17 years after buying the club. The club will cost the buyer around $6 billion, making it the most expensive football team in history.

Apart from Sir Jim, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim has also shown a key interest in acquiring the Theatre of Dreams, according to reports. Whoever will acquire the club will have to spend a huge amount of money to bring the club back to its former glory. Multiple players including Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo have spoken out about the club being in complete disrepair.

While it is possible for both parties to acquire the club, the financial gulf between the two will tip the scale towards the Emirati. Sheikh Tamim’s family is reportedly worth $300 billion, almost 20 times more than Sir Jim’s net worth. The English industrialist also wanted to buy Chelsea when it was put up for sale by Roman Abrahamovic however, he was beaten in the race by American billionaire Todd Boehly and a consortium that backed him.
