Lionel Messi almost decided to leave PSG in the summer due to this personal reason: Reports

Lionel Messi in action for PSG
Lionel Messi is only under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season and the mercurial forward has been strongly linked with a move to Miami. Barcelona are also said to be keen to bring Messi back to Camp Nou in what would be a sensational return to a club he made a tearful farewell to in August 2021.
In order to fulfil the wishes of his family, Messi will depart PSG at the end of the current campaign. According to El Nacional, Messi’s family, especially his wife Antonella and children, have never made Paris their home and do not wish to continue their stay there.
It is uncertain if Messi’s family will push for a move back to Barcelona or accept Inter Miami’s offer to play in the United States. Messi’s PSG contract expires at the conclusion of the 2022–23 campaign, though he has the option to extend it by a further year.
Barcelona wants to get Messi back to Camp Nou, but his wage demands may provide a challenge. Meanwhile, it’s generally rumoured that Inter Miami has made Messi a hefty offer to move to the United States with them next season. Messi broke virtually every record during over 20 years at Camp Nou, scoring an incredible 672 goals in 778 games.
Lionel Messi joined PSG from Barcelona in 2021

The 35-year-old left Barcelona for PSG in 2021 on a free transfer. His first season in Paris was difficult for him; he managed just four goals in Ligue 1 and struggled as PSG was eliminated from the Champions League after losing 3-2 to Real Madrid in the last 16 despite being 2-0 up on aggregate.
He has, however, been in outstanding form so far this season, scoring 12 goals and providing out 14 assists. However, it seems more and more likely that he will leave after two years if a new deal cannot be reached.
