Lionel Messi’s decision to play for the MLS club Inter Miami was confirmed by all reliable sources including the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. The World Cup winner recently gave an interview where he broke the silence on Barcelona’s transfer.

Inter Miami offered Lionel Messi a four-year contract with a salary of £50 million per year with club endorsements, and sponsorship deals. The Argentine accepted the offer and will soon move to the United States of America.

The World Cup winner in a recent interview told, “I will not return to Barcelona, I will join Inter Miami.” Lionel Messi also told, “I decided to go to Miami. I still haven’t closed it 100% and some things are missing, but well we decided to continue the journey there.”

Lionel Messi faced a lot of criticism from Barcelona fans because of his decision to play for Inter Miami. Argentine in the interview told everything about this situation he was facing, Messi told, “On the one hand, there was an ugly feeling with Barça. I had been the bad guy in the movie and I didn’t like that either because it hadn’t been like that. That’s why I would like to have a real farewell at some point…”

He further told, “My relationship with Barça is still hurting? A little bit. For not being able to say goodbye to people as I would have liked to. As I think I would have deserved. As the players I mentioned also deserved and did. I would have liked to leave in that way.”

As per reports Lionel Messi will soon complete all the remaining formalities with Inter Miami and move to the United States in the next few days. In the upcoming days, the Argentine will confirm his move to Inter Miami on his social media handles.

After the news broke out Barcelona on its social media handle confirmed the decision of Lionel Messi to play for Inter Miami. The Catalan club respected this decision of the Argentine player.

Barcelona on its Instagram handle wrote, “On Monday, June 5, Jorge Messi, the player’s father and representative, informed Club President Joan Laporta of the player’s decision to join Inter Miami, despite having been presented with a proposal from Barça, in consideration of the desire of both FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi for him to once again wear blaugrana.”

Further, the club wrote, “President Laporta understood and respected Messi’s decision. FC Barcelona wishes Lionel Messi the best of luck in his new professional phase.”
