Lionel Messi can well make headlines for his new-signed team Paris Saint-Germain as Messi could become the player with the most assists in a single season in Ligue 1. The Argentine great is just seven assists away from becoming the top assist-maker in the history of the league in the remaining seven league games.

In the initial stages, Messi was suffering after joining PSG as he didn’t get any goals or assists in his first few matches. However, Messi will be looking to reach the milestone now, with his eyes also set on winning the league trophy in his maiden season at PSG.

“I’m almost sure that PSG will not let player like Messi leave, as they believe in him, how player he is and should become for Parisians. They know he is the best.”, said Florent Torchut in a recent interview while giving his take on Messi.

PSG fans were hopeful after Messi’s joining that this could be the year for the Champions League triumph. However, that did not happen as PSG was eliminated in the Round of 16 by Real Madrid.

Lionel Messi has 13 assists and 3 goals in 20 league matches and 5 goals in 7 appearances in the Champions League this season. Messi took almost a month to get his debut goal for PSG after scoring one against Nantes. Messi’s performance against Manchester City and his former coach Guardiola was the highlight of his form and terror.
