Lionel Messi and his family
Lionel Messi took Argentina to their first FIFA World Cup victory in 36 years in Qatar. After many years, he was able to grasp the one accolade that had escaped him throughout his career. Messi recently held an extravagant celebration in Argentina for his fellow Argentina teammates and family before his expected return to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The ‘Festival of the Champions’ took place at City Center Rosario in Sante Fe, a hotel-casino that has been the home of Messi since his return from Qatar. Reportedly, Messi was joined by some of his national teammates who were in Qatar with him, including Angel Di Maria and Leandro Parades. Lionel Messi was joined by his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, wearing a silver dress, his mother, Celia Cuccittini, and brothers Rodrigo and Maria Sol at the party.
The number of people and general atmosphere of the gathering necessitated a large security presence in and around the City Center Rosario. Law enforcement officers even erected barricades to stop potential disturbances. Lionel Messi is now expected to travel back to Paris on Monday, January 2, and will likely be back at practice with his PSG teammates the day after.

In 2023, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will no longer be playing in the same continent for the first time since they started their careers as professionals with Barcelona and Sporting CP at the beginning of the millennium. Messi has agreed to a one-year extension with Paris Saint-Germain, while Ronaldo has penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.
It is possible that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could go head-to-head in January. Reports suggest that Paris Saint Germain will be traveling to Saudi Arabia in the mid-season break for a friendly match. The team they will play against is likely to be comprised of players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal clubs, with Ronaldo having just signed with the former.
After Manchester United terminated his contract due to an incendiary television interview in which he criticized manager Erik ten Hag and the owners, Ronaldo had been a free agent. He also suffered from a lackluster performance at the World Cup, where he was benched in the knockout round and left the field in tears after Portugal’s quarterfinal loss to Morocco. On the contrary, Messi has led Argentina to their third World Cup title, thus making his case stronger than ever to be regarded as football’s greatest-ever player.
