Lionel Messi has taken a departing shot at PSG. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has said his goodbyes to Parc des Princes, stating that he will be relocating to the United States. He’ll be joining Inter Miami CF. Messi is leaving Europe as a free agent after deciding not to sign another contract in Europe.
Lionel Messi has advised Kylian Mbappe to quit PSG. He wants the Frenchman to move to other clubs, preferably Barcelona. Messi said “I prefer that you go to Barca. But if you want to go to Madrid, do it, you deserve a real winning project.”
Messi weighing in on Mbappe’s future might cause a few waves of panic in the Real Madrid camp as Mbappe has been touted for a move to the Spanish capital for a long time. Earlier this month, the French talisman expressed his wishes to run down his contract in Paris and move elsewhere next season. However, this has sent the Paris hierarchy into delirium as they would have to choose between letting him go this year or watching him go for free the next.
Despite winning five Ligue 1 titles and a World Cup, Kylian is yet to win the Champions League. Many believe a move away from PSG would help the Frenchman is achieving the elusive title. Messi’s comments also hint in the same direction. A direction that takes Kylian Mbappe away from the Parisian club.

Luis Enrique emerges as the frontrunner for the PSG job
Luis Enrique has long been mentioned as a prospective PSG management candidate. With Julian Nagelsmann out of the picture, people close to the matter believe that PSG have already commenced negotiation with the Spaniard.
Enrique made his name as a player for Barcelona. He proceeded to work at the club as a manager. He led them to an iconic treble in 2014-15 and created a very strong unit. Enrique was at the help of the Spanish national team however, he could not replicate his success with La Roja and was relieved after a dismal World Cup in 2022.
PSG are bent on resetting the club and attempting to develop a team rather than maintaining the club’s philosophy of adding a slew of expensive high-profile players, which has so far failed to bring the Champions League success. As a result, they are scouring the market for players who would rather fit a certain profile than stars. They expect Enrique to emulate his achievements at Barcelona.
