Lionel Messi warns Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would leave PSG if they sign Cristiano Ronaldo: Reports

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi has reportedly threatened to leave the club if they were to sign the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo in this summer transfer window. Messi and Ronaldo had a fantastic rivalry during their time in La Liga when the former played for Barcelona and the latter for archrivals Real Madrid.

Both stars have competed not only on the field for trophies but also to establish themselves as the best player in the world. Given their star-studded abilities, it’s no surprise that Messi and Ronaldo have won 12 of the previous 13 Ballon d’Or awards.

Why Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United?

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Manchester United due to the club’s lack of ambition. Christian Eriksen is the only major signing that the Red Devils are close to completing. Because of the lack of activity in the transfer market, it appears that the Portuguese international is content with his current situation at the club.

Another factor influencing Ronaldo’s decision to leave Manchester United is the absence of UEFA Champions League football next season. Last season, Manchester United failed to qualify for the UCL after finishing sixth in the Premier League with 58 points, 13 points behind the top four and 35 points behind champions Manchester City.
