Cristiano Ronaldo to receive special honor medal in Portugal for ‘promoting’ the nation’s capital
Cristiano Ronaldo has always always contributed to Lisbon's fame making a mark on everyone in the city.
Cristiano Ronaldo will receive the Medal of Honor of the city from the Lisbon City Council. The City Council takes the decision after the President of the City Council Carlos Mendes proposed the same in a meeting in the City Council. The proposal was based on the theme, “Life path as a world-renowned sportsman, with direct reflections on the city of Lisbon and its population.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has been a motivation for millions in and outside Portugal. The Portuguese 38-year-old has won five Ballon d’Ors. The president spoke about how the former Sporting Lisbon star used his ‘energy’ and ‘ability’ to contribute to Lisbon.
The Lisbon City Council didn’t forget to recognize how Cristiano evolved from a boy. He started his football career in Sporting Lisbon and evolved into a man in Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. The Lisbon city council awards The Medal of Honor as an appreciation given to the soccer star. He made Portugal a name on the world football map. The former Real Madrid star has consistently praised his hometown all across the world.
Carlos Mendes went on praising Ronaldo as the best. The Al Nassr star needs to be appreciated as he gives hope to youngsters which became a reason for the honor. Cristiano makes people believe in their potential. “They can dream that if they are the best they will succeed, that by their merit they can get what they want.”

The player signed a contract of 1500 Euros with the Primeira Liga. Sporting CP promoted Cristiano Ronaldo to the senior team at the age of just 16.
The teenager showed his brilliant talent which got him a call from Sir Alex Ferguson‘s Manchester United. The former Manchester United star has always been a flag bearer of Lisbon. He has always shown his passion and zeal in playing for his National Team.
