Liverpool or Manchester City: Who has a better chance of winning the Premier League 2021-22 title?
The English Premier League is at its business end and fans still don’t know who will lift the cup this season. Liverpool and Manchester City are the two contenders in the title race but one will emerge victoriously.
The league has been the most exciting one with four games left yet the fans haven’t got the champions. Both the teams are looking unbeatable as both are going neck-to-neck with the team from Manchester having a slender lead of one point from the Merseyside.
Interestingly, Liverpool and Manchester City are competing not only for the league title but also for the Champions League title as well. Liverpool is one step ahead as they eye a ‘quadruple’ which means they can win all the four titles (FA Cup, league cup, league title, and champions league). Guardiola’s side will fight for their first-ever Champions League title after the Merseyside knocked them out of the FA cup tie.
Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 1-0 with many first-team players rested as they have other competitions to target but their depth in the team was evident. They started after resting several players but still managed to edge past Newcastle. Meanwhile, Manchester City defeated Leeds 4-0 in their league match last weekend to stay one point ahead of Liverpool.
Liverpool- Remaining matches
Klopp’s side will have four matches remaining in the league, the FA Cup final game against Chelsea, and the second leg tie of the UCL semifinal against Villarreal. They have a tight schedule and the players must be perfectly fit to reach the quadruple. They will next play the UCL tie and then move on to play Tottenham, Aston Villa, Southampton, and Wolves in the remaining league fixture.
Manchester City- Remaining matches
The Blues has four league games to play and one semifinal second-leg tie against the mighty Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. They will look to win their first UCL glory if they can get past the Los Blancos. In the league, they will play Wolves, Aston Villa, West Ham, and Newcastle.
Liverpool or Manchester City: Who will lift the Premier League 2021/22 title?
Although both sides go neck-to-neck in their remaining set of matches, both teams seem unbeatable in their remaining matches. So it’s very hard to predict the winner but if it stays like this then Guardiola’s team might see their hands on the trophy.
The Reds can only hope that City drops points but they have to be more focused as they have some important games to play including the FA Cup final against Chelsea. As a result, De Bruyne and co. are currently in a much better position to win the title. However, if Klopp’s side continues to play like this, they can win the league title, keeping in mind City’s track record against Wolves.
