Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold opened up about the Champions League Final of 2019. Premier League rivals, Liverpool locked horns with Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds defeated the Lilywhites in the nailbiting final to secure their sixth Champions League. The English defender opens up about behind-the-match feelings, three years after the historic day in the Liverpool calendar.

The English fullback said that the team decided ‘not to change the gameplan’ so as to protect the lead. The early lead gave a ‘strange feeling’ to the Jurgen Klopp team. The English defender said how the team didn’t shift their gear from attacking to defensive but rather maintained possession and do whatever was required to secure the lead.

It was in the 87th minute when Divock Origi took a brilliant shot to secure their second. The Belgian forward took a brilliant shot inside the boss into the bottom right corner, gearing the ball to the back of the net. The goal created ‘the best feeling in the football field’ for the team. The second goal lead secured the victory of the Jurgen Klopp team and was described as ‘an incredible feeling‘ by the English fullback.

Liverpool won their sixth Champions League trophy and the first one in the Jurgen Klopp era. The Liverpool defender put the Reds over Tottenham calling the former as a better team, with the confidence of the player who said aloud, ‘there was no away they beat us’

Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander Arnold wins the Standard Chartered Player of the Month award(April). The English National has helped the Jurgenn Klopp side to secure 20 points in their last eight games. The Reds won six out of the eight while drawing the rest. The English right-back recorded six assists in a total of eight games.

With six crucial setups and one man of the match, the player found himself a winner against Diego Jota and Mohammad Salah t win the award.
