Former FC Barcelona ad Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez is set to join the Brazilian league. As per reports from Diario AS, Luis Suarez has agreed to join Gremio after leaving Uruguay. The striker would likely join the club on a two-year deal. Nothing is confirmed as of now but various reports have suggested that there has been a verbal agreement between the two parties.

Luis Suarez left his boyhood club Nacional a few weeks earlier. His contract with the Uruguayan club was only valid till the FIFA World Cup. El Pistolero is on a hunt for a new league to conquer. There were talks of him joining David Beckham‘s Inter Miami but it seems that the veteran striker has set his eyes on Brazil.

Gremio vice president confirmed that the club has begun negotiations with Luis Suarez. Paulo Caleffi confirmed that the representatives want to seal the negotiations as soon as possible. “We’re going to have a conversation with Suarez’s representatives”, Caleffi told Diario AS. “Although it has been mentioned several times that we already met, a definitive conversation is yet to occur. This week is when the final meeting will take place”.he added.

Luis Suarez might have slowed down with time, but his will to play at the top level hasn’t. He is still looking for a new challenge after the former Barcelona talisman suffered a heartbreak aft the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
