Manchester City youngster Phil Foden was recently put to the sword by Rio Ferdinand who said that winning the Premier League title five times was an “absolute shame“. The former Manchester United player made this claim during his induction into the Premier League Hall Of Fame. Ferdinand was one of the newest inductees along with Sir Alex Ferguson, Petr Cech, and Arsene Wenger.

After the event, a reporter asked Ferdinand to share his opinion on who should be inducted in the Hall of Fame next year. Suprisingly! Rio cited the names of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Mohamed Salah before giving his views on Phil Foden.

And when the reporter asked why he didn’t include Foden in the Hall of Fame this is what Rio replied, “Kevin De Bruyne is the first name everyone mentions. Arsene Wenger mentioned it last night when he was questioned, and I agree. I think Mohamed Salah will eventually get into it. Erling Haaland… He can enter it after just one season! Haaland could enter it now and feel comfortable. Who is the young player that I think will eventually get into it? Phil Foden. Did you know Foden potentially be at the end of this season if Man City wins the Premier League? …he will have five titles. He is 23! It’s a shame, an absolute shame.”

Premier League Hall of Fame pays tribute to the players and managers who have shown outstanding performance in football and contributed greatly to the English Premier League.

The Premier League Hall of Fame started back in the year 1992. Till now players and managers like Sir Alex Ferguson, Wenger, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, and many other players.

And in the year 2023 three famous and very much renowned players were inducted in the Hall of Fame and these players were.

  • Reo Ferdinand: He is a former Manchester United defender and a key player in the history of Man UTD. Rio Ferdinand has won six League titles, one European Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and two League Cups. And now he is inducted into the Hall of Fame 2023.
  • Petr Cech: He was one of the finest goalkeepers of his time. Petr Cech has played for Chelsea and won many titles during his spell. He appeared in 494 games and is the seventh most-capped player of all time. He has won four League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Champions League title, and a UEFA Europa League title.
  • Tony Adam: He is a former Arsenal center-back. Tony Adams has won top-flight division titles, three FA Cups, two FA Community Shields, a UEFA Cup Winners Cup, and two Football League Cups.
