Jesse Lingard has been without a football club for over 6 months. The midfielder had signed for Nottingham Forest in 2022 but went the entire season without a goal or an assist in the league. When his contract ran out, he was released by the club and has been a free agent since.

Without a club, Lingard still trains and according to reports, is waiting for a big money move. On his Instagram he keeps posting updates of him, posting photos of him in the gym and football field. In his latest post, he uploaded himself working out in Dubai, and it went viral. Unfortunately, it has gone viral due to a comment by an ex-Manchester United Star.

Paul Scholes, a graduate of United’s youth academy just like Lingard, blasted the 31-year-old. Scholes, who was a part of United’s Treble winning side in 1998/99 brutally asked Lingard if he had any plans on being on a football pitch.

Lingard began his career at Manchester United, playing for their youth teams since the age of 7. After a series of loans to clubs like Leicester City, West Brom, Brighton, and Derby, he broke into the United first team in 2015. With his inconsistent form, he often found himself on the bench. In 2021 he once again was sent out on loan to West Ham United, where he had his best season in terms of goals scored.

After yet another poor season with United the 2021/22, the club released him, choosing not to extend his contract. He signed for Forest but also didn’t have any impact, despite being one of their highest-paid players. Right now he’s a free agent but is linked to many clubs in the Saudi League.
