Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag rejected four proven midfielders to sign Bayern’s Marcel Sabitzer
Erik Ten Hag only wants the players that he wants. He proved this yet again after rejecting these 4 quality midfielders to sign before finally signing Bayern midfielder.

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag and Marcel Sabitzer
Manchester United boss Eric Ten Haag spurned four other midfield options before signing Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich, according to reports. The red devils completed the move late in the night just before the closing of the transfer window
Unlike the previous years, Erik Ten Hag has emphasized signing only those players who would fit well in his system. The club was offered four midfielders on the final day of the transfer window but Ten Hag rejected all of them before finally signing Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Sports, United was presented with players like Yannick Carrasco, Isco, Saul Niguez, and Houssem Aouar in the dying minutes of the transfer window. Despite such alluring options, the manager was adamant and decided to dig deeper and find the player with the right profile for his system.
Erik Ten Hag was confident entering the deadline day in search of a creative midfielder. Manchester United talisman Christian Eriksen suffered an ankle injury during the FA Cup fixture against Reading earlier this week. This injury forced the veteran manager to step into the market again after signing players like Wout Weghorst and Jack Butland.
Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United side is finally producing top performances in the Premier League recently. They currently sit in the fourth position at the table. They will be facing Crystal Palace on 4th February 2023 at Old Trafford. United will also face FC Barcelona on 16th February 2023 in the UEFA Europa League.

Marcel Sabitzer’s reaction to joining Manchester United

Manchester United announced the signing of Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich on a loan deal until the end of the season. The player seemed optimistic ahead of his transfer to the Premier League. “From the moment I heard about this opportunity I knew it was for me. I am a competitive player, I want to win and help the club achieve its aims this season,” Marcel Sabitzer told the club’s website.
The Austrian midfielder has previously played for clubs like Rapid Wein, Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich in his career. He joined the German giants in 2021 and has played over 40 games for the Bavarians.
After winning the Bundesliga and DFL Super Cup with Bayern Munich, Marcel Sabitzer is set to join Erik Ten Hag’s evolving Manchester United to compete in allegedly the best domestic league in the world, the Premier League. Sabitzer’s role in the club will transcend that of Eriksen. The Dane, while being a masterful operator, does not offer a lot in terms of pressing. Sabitzer, a product of the Gegenpressing heritage, will offer dynamism and physicality, something Ten Haag would surely treasure.
