Manchester United considering this Napoli star as backup option in case they fail to sign Victor Osimhen
The Frenchman joined Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
Randal Kolo Muani is one of several centre-forwards being pursued by Manchester United ahead of the start of the summer transfer window. United manager Erik Ten Hag wants a new striker in the summer transfer window. According to reports, he has taken a shine to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.
The media are linking Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Victor Osimhen (Napoli) and Goncalo Ramos (Benfica) with the Red Devils. According to recent reports, Kolo Muani is high on Manchester United’s wishlist.
The Manchester club are prepared for a fierce battle with Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the transfer of the Eintracht player. Kolo Muani has had a good season for Eintracht Frankfurt so far. He has scored 20 goals and recorded 14 assists in 40 games for the German club.
Bayern has previously been described as Kolo Muani’s “dream” club, although he is unlikely to move this summer. Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche has already hinted the forward could stay. “We have no intention of giving up Randal after only one year with us this summer,” he told Sport1. “Another season with us would do him good.”
The transfer of the Eintracht player would be the cheapest option for Manchester United to bring in a new striker. Serie A leaders Napoli have valued Victor Osimhen at over £130 million, and the cost of bringing in Harry Kane would also exceed £100 million. Meanwhile, reports suggest Eintracht are ready to sell Kolo Muani for around £70 million.

Is Marcus Rashford the solution to Manchester United’s striker woes?
From Andy Cole to Robin van Persie, the red side of Manchester has had the crème de la crème of strikers in the past. However, they have an evident lack of top-class talent at centre forward off late.
Serviceable strikers like Odion Ighalo and Wout Weghorst have given their best for the club. However, neither can be described as world-class. Cristiano Ronaldo scored plenty for the Red Devils last year, but he can hardly be described as a traditional striker. Edinson Cavani and Romelu Lukaku have had good seasons at Old Trafford in the last five years, though their success didn’t last long.
Manchester-born Marcus Rashford has had a great season for the English giants. He has been asked to fill in as a striker at times due to the prolonged absences of Anthony Martial. The Englishman has performed admirably and is having the best goalscoring season of his career.
Diving a bit deeper into his underlying stats, we see that Rashford has 0.53 non-penalty expected goals per 90 (99th percentile) in the last year. This showcases the improvement in his off-the-ball movement, which was previously a big deficiency in his game. Rashford also averages 6.32 touches per 90 in the penalty box (91st percentile.) He has also improved aerially, winning 0.69 aerial duels per 90 (74th percentile).
The above statistics and his relatively poor take-on numbers and progressive carries could mean United could be better off converting Rashford into a striker and focusing on other positions in the summer window.
