In recent years, Manchester United have been nothing short of ‘powerless’ when having to come up against Liverpool. The fierce rivalry has been significantly one-sided in recent seasons, with score lines like 7-0, 4-0 and 5-0 summing up United’s luck against the Reds. As United fell 2-1 to Fulham on Saturday, a popular Twitter account posted a shocking statistic that was nothing short of shameful for United’s goal-scoring department.
It is no secret that Manchester United have struggled when it comes to putting the ball in the net. Except for the last few games, where Rasmus Hojlund has scored or assisted consecutively, the club have averaged just 1.3 goals per game. As for their rivals Liverpool, a whopping 63 goals in the same time frame means that their goal-to-game ratio sits at 2.4.

While averaging almost twice the number of goals as United, another statistic reveals the disparity between the two clubs.
The post claims that Jurgen Klopp‘s men can lose 6-0 for six consecutive matches and still have a better goal difference than the Red Devils. Liverpool have a goal difference of +38 while United have barely managed to cut it even with goals scored and conceded.
Erik ten Hag reacts to poor showing against Fulham; remains confident of top 4 finish
United boss Erik ten Hag saw his side fall 2-1 to Fulham in front of the home crowd. Even though the club were without star man Rasmus Hojlund, the club’s performance over 90 minutes was not one that breathed confidence. Filling in for Højlund was Marcus Rashford, whose performance was below par, to say the least.

The #10 managed to produce a single shot on target while also failing to create significant scoring chances. Following the game, Ten Hag said:
From January, we've been playing many finals. We've won many, but lost today's final. You have to see the bigger picture and the bigger picture looks very good.Ten Hag said speaking to the reporters
He added that the club are missing certain players due to injury and that they will be back to their best once they are back.
He assured fans of the club’s direction and announced that they have a ‘very good’ bunch of players. However, not everyone is convinced of the manager’s claim. Many questioned how Ten Hag was going to salvage the season for the Reds, while others wanted him gone as soon as possible. With a tough run of games against Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea, United’s future will soon be revealed.
