Erling Haaland was unveiled as a new Manchester City player in front of the fans at the Ethiad stadium today. City beat the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool to sign the Norwegian from Borussia Dortmund.

For £51 million, Erling Haaland could prove to be one of the biggest steals of the decade for Manchester City. The 21-year-old has done enough in Germany to show for himself. In 89 games for Dortmund, Haaland managed 86 goals and 23 assists.

He has also been one of the best strikers in Europe in the last 2 years even though he is only 21. The forward will definitely be looking forward to playing in the Premier League as did his first public interview at the Etihad today.

Erling Haaland says he doesn’t like the word Manchester United

Speaking to the fans, Erling Haaland was asked, “Which team are you most looking forward to playing against?” Haaland replied saying, “I don’t like to say the word but, Manchester United.”

The young striker was also asked questions like how is his name pronounced and how would he like to be cheered by the fans. The player was also asked if he had set expectations or targets for himself and the club as he prepares for the upcoming 22-23 season.

Erling Haaland has definitely created a reputation for himself for being a shrewd and robust forward. His physique and ability to drive the ball forward will help Pep Guardiola a lot as he eyes to match Manchester United’s record of winning 3 Premier League titles consecutively.

It’s not only Manchester United but a lot many clubs will be fearing Erling Haaland as they prepare for the new season. Manchester City played most of last season without a no. 9 striker and now they have Erling Haaland. Pep Guardiola will be hoping he can finally fire European glory to Manchester City in the new season.
