Manchester United in pole position to sign Newcastle United’s goalkeeper before the summer transfer window closes: Reports
dubravka
Manchester United are yet again on their move before the summer transfer window closes, to sign the Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. United have been keen on their signings, especially after the budge of their new coach Eric Ten Hag, who has been pivotal in making those approaches.
The Red Devils are supposed to have Dubravka as a backup goalkeeper or who knows they make him their priority, but sidelining your prime goalkeeper – David De Gea, for the new one, could be bothersome. Although the Spanish sweeper keeper has been subjected to a few troubles but not been any major criticism lately.
Signing a new goalkeeper will finally be the last stroke in the beautiful rebuild picture that Mr. Ten Hag was so eager to draw. Following this signing could be very helpful for the team to cope with new talents and most importantly young ones. Having two good in-form goalkeepers wouldn’t be a problem for a side like United.
Manchester United’s failing attempts to stop the ball from falling in their net
Manchester United’s last season was an episode of disasters for the team, be it the losses or the criticism they had to face from outside football. Their capabilities of stopping the ball from falling into their own nets had been in question since the last season. Beating top teams showed their potential but what are they doing at their defense is still a mystery.
Since the last season for Manchester United, the signing of Harry Maguire for 80m had been subjected to the most criticism. The English defender’s failing attempts to stop the ball and eventually not being able to defend properly was a hectic business for Manchester United.
Their goalkeeper David, was not only saving Manchester United from getting 2-3 more goals scored against them in a single match and Cristiano helping them to score more crucial goals only helped the team last season, which they are looking to overturn this time, by the new signings in defense including the Newcastle approach.
