Manchester United are preparing a bid for the England star Mason Mount in the coming weeks. The value of the offer is said to be £55 million. Although that is short of the £85 million valuation that his current club Chelsea has set.
Mount is looking increasingly likely to leave the club this summer as rivals queue up to lodge bids to land the midfielder. The 24-year-old midfielder is nearing the end of his contract with the Blues as just over 12 months remain on his current deal. No agreement on an extension is in sight.
This campaign has been more of a struggle for Mount. He has been in and out of the team through both form and injury. As per reports, other clubs are also on alert over the availability of Mount. Liverpool is one of the other teams heavily linked with a move. Jurgen Klopp has the need to strengthen his club’s midfield. While Chelsea‘s London rivals Arsenal are also circling in hopes of bolstering their central ranks for next season.
It remains to be seen where the future will be for Mount and Chelsea. But their paths might go in separate directions in the coming months as bids are reportedly being prepared.
