Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has told Aston Villa manager Unai Emery to ‘sit back down’. This was after Manchester United ended Aston Villa’s 10-game unbeaten run.
Emery has received quite some praise for the work he has done at Villa. Under his guidance, Villa has risen from the bottom half. And now they are in contention to secure a place in the Europa League. or possibly even higher.
However, Aston Villa suffered a 1-0 defeat against United at Old Trafford on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal in the 39th minute. Rio Ferdinand was delighted with the result. And he was not afraid to make his feelings known in the aftermath.
Speaking about the match on his Rio Ferdinand presents FIVE podcast, Ferdinand reportedly said, “We stopped their 10-game unbeaten run. Unai Emery was producing miracles. But who steps up to stop him? Bruno. Sit back down, Unai. Have a reality check and know your place“.

Manchester United are pushing hardest to sign Eintracht Frankfurt and France star Randal Kolo Muani. The 24-year-old forward is reportedly one of a select number of transfer targets for Erik Ten Hag’s men this summer as they are looking to bring in a striker.
Harry Kane is still thought to be Erik Ten Hag’s first choice. But there is no certainty that negotiations will be straightforward with Tottenham Hotspurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Alternatives for Kane, such as Kolo Muani and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have emerged. But according to reports that United rank the Frankfurt man higher than Osimhen in terms of interest.
The report also suggests that Bayern Munich have already started talks with Kolo Muani’s representatives. The player is understood to be valued at around £105m.
Although apparent interest are coming from home and abroad. But Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche last week reportedly denied any inquiries or approaches have yet been made for the player. But he acknowledged that player is a target for big clubs. In a press conference, Markus said, “It’s normal for the attacker to arouse desires. But Bayern Munich isn’t the only club dealing with him either. On the other hand, Randal still feels very comfortable with us and he also has a lot of development areas that he can work on very well with us”.
Kolo Muani is a versatile player. He can operate as a central striker, out wide or in a slightly more withdrawn forward role. He has 13 goals and 12 assists this season. This shows that he is as valuable for his creative exploits as for scoring output.
