“United finally have a striker” – Fans hail Rasmus Hojlund as he BREAKS Haaland and Thierry Henry’s record

Rasmus Hojlund is a man in form. After initially struggling to find his feet in the Premier League, Hojlund has put his troubles so far behind him that he now finds himself at the number 1 spot for goals scored consecutively. His most recent performance against Luton Town in the Premier League earned him a unique record, surpassing the likes of Thierry Henry and Erling Haaland.

According to the Premier League’s statistics, Rasmus Hojlund, following his brace on Sunday, became the youngest player to score in six consecutive matches. Aged 21 years and 14 days, the Dane beat the record previously held by Joe Willock, who was 258 days older. Starting from December of last year, the forward has scored in every game for the club, against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves, and Aston Villa. His two early goals against Luton were enough to give United a 2-1 win on the night.

Thanks to his two goals on Sunday, Højlund’s overall tally for the season is now at 7. However, the player did not struggle to find his feet in the Champions League as he scored 5 goals in the group stage itself.

As Højlund finally finds his feet in the Premier League, United will be relieved to find a regular scorer in their attack. After an undermining start to the season, the Reds are just five points away from the top four.

Manchester United paid $82 million to bring in target man Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in the summer. Fans have made no effort to hit back at rival fans who dragged their striker through the mud at the start of the season. A fan hit back at Højlund’s haters, claiming that he is now the best in the league. Others said that United will finally be relieved to have a proper striker in their attack.

Some fans were still unconvinced, as they said his goals have come against ‘smaller’ opposition. A certain section of United fans hoped that he didn’t end up like Marcus Rashford, who is struggling for form after showing promise early on. A confident United fan said that he was even better than Erling Haaland himself. Many supporters hoped that he could keep up his form and not deteriorate as the season progressed.

The fact that United are within touching distance of the top four deserves praise, especially after the poor start to the season. As it stands, United have 44 points from 25 games and upcoming games against Fulham, Manchester City, and Everton will be crucial in their pursuit of the top four. United fans will be thanking Sean Millis for his memes, because ever since he landed in the UK, Hojlund hasn’t stopped scoring since.
