Manchester United set to handover £200m to their new manager Eric ten Hag to sign players fitting in his plans ahead of the upcoming season: Reports
Manchester United officially announced the appointment of Eric ten Hag as their new head coach. According to the reports from Mirror, the Red Devils have even handed him a sum of £200m to bring in players as per his preference. Eric Ten Hag will take over from the interim manager Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season and is happy to join Manchester United as it is a historic club with many legends played and many histories created.
“It’s a great honor to be appointed manager of Man Utd, I’m hugely excited. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve,” said ten Hag after joining Manchester United.
Manchester United has completed the contract with six big players and the team is giving the authority to the new coach to decide on player retention. Players including the likes of Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, and Lee Grant, are all on their way out for free after their contract expires at the end of the season.
Similarly players namely Aaron Wan Bissaka, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Alex Telles might not stay further if ten Hag wants it like that. Thus, there is a huge squad to fill for the newly appointed manager and the team management.
Players that Manchester United and Eric ten Hag might eye ahead of the upcoming season
Eric Ten Hag has a list of players in his mind such as Harry Kane and Declan Rice, who could be the two ‘big signings’ that might end the total budget. Players like Darwin Nunez of Benfica, and Ruben Neves of Wolves are also in their plans. Manchester United is also eyeing the French international, Christopher Nkunku, who currently plays for RB Leipzig.
With huge talks about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United currently, ten Hag have not made any comments regarding their starman. Despite Ronaldo’s caliber and goal-scoring hunger, the new coach would look into his plans and see whether the Portuguese legend fits in them or not.
