Marcus Rashford trolled on social media for using ChatGPT while framing message on Twitter after Manchester United’s defeat

Fans poked fun at Marcus Rashford after he seemingly used ChatGPT in a post-match tweet. The tweet in question was his reaction to Manchester United throwing away a two-goal lead at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on April 27.

Rashford was unable to guide his team to victory despite scoring a goal.“We were disappointed to not come away with the victory! We have a lot of important games around the corner and need to keep the focus,” he wrote. The Englishman also added emojis, referencing his trademark celebration where he puts a finger to his head. However, screenshots of ChatGPT saying it wrote the tweet circulated.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence language model developed by OpenAI that can generate human-like text. It can be used for various purposes, including answering questions, summarizing text and generating creative writing. In this case, Rashford used the model to tweet about a game, attracting negative publicity and highlighting a common theme – celebrities not handling their social media. The incident can be viewed as a problem or a necessity, a lack of authenticity or a fear of constant insults by fans. Regardless, it is something that does need discussion.

Aston Villa Women footballer Alisha Lehmann described Marcus Rashford as a “gent” after he came to her rescue at a nightclub in Manchester. Both footballers had stepped out for a night of fun at Chinawhite in the city centre, albeit separately.

A group of men immediately mobbed Lehmann upon entering. Thankfully, Rashford recognised the Switzerland international and came to her aid. He invited her to a private area of the club.

A source said: “Marcus cleared the table and invited her and her friends to join them. It was their first meeting, but he knew who Alisha was. They exchanged a few words, and she thanked him then they carried on partying with their separate sets of friends. She thought he was a gent.”
