Mason Greenwood recently featured in a 2-2 for his new side, Getafe. The 22-year-old was at the heart of controversy for the past year. After being accused of s*xual assault and violence, the club provisionally suspended the player. After investigations were closed due to the lack of evidence, the club moved to reinstate the player.

However, mass unrest and opposition meant that the player and club parted ways. After joining Getafe in the summer, Greenwood recently netted his first goal for the club. Greenwood got on the end of a Borja Mayoral pass. The former Man United forward expertly placed his shot into the roof of the net, his shot going past rushing Celta Vigo defenders.

His goal put his side 2-1 up in the 33rd minute. However, Getafe’s joy was short-lived. Jรธrgen Larsen was quick to pounce on a deflected save, tying it up on the night. The win pushes Getafe to 11th in La Liga. The side has 10 points from 9 games played. Moreover, his first goal for the club will offer a significant boost to the young player. The player has a goal and an assist to his name in La Liga this season.

The club also said that he would be available for selection while saying that the matter would be ‘kept under review’. The Brazilian player did not make the starting XI against Brentford. However, Erik ten Hag deployed the winger in the second half. The #21 featured for close to 30 minutes in the second half as Ten Hag subbed-in Antony instead of Mason Mount. However, the 23-year-old failed to register a goal or assist.

Fans can expect to see more of the player after his return. Antony was a regular starter for Ten Hag prior to his leave of absence a month ago. The Brazilian earlier vowed that he would put all allegations behind him and return to his very best. The Red Devils face Sheffield United after the international break, and Antony would love to start the game.
