Manchester United ended a six-year trophy drought as they beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Wembley to clinch the Carabao Cup. It was their first trophy under new manager Erik Ten Hag who was appointed back in April 2022.

Both Casemiro and Marcus Rashford were on the scoresheet as United wrapped up the game in the first half as they scored in the 33rd and 39th minute, respectively. The win meant United won the Carabao Cup for a record sixth time as they went level in terms of winning this trophy with their arch-rivals Manchester City.
