The home side came from behind to steal all three points from Arsenal at Craven Cottage. Arsenal took the early lead through Bukayo Saka. However, goals from Raul Jimenez and Bobby De Cordova-Reid sealed the deal for the home side. Mikel Arteta was not happy with his side after the loss. He blamed his players’ poor showing in front of goal and inability to retain top spot.

Arteta said during the post-match press conference,

What happened today can't happen again. It could've been a beautiful day to end the year on top of the Premier League, but now it is the worst day. Today's performance was the worst we've had this season.

Following their loss, Arsenal dropped to fourth behind Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Manchester City. Arsenal have 40 points from 20 games.

Shortly afterward, Arsenal conceded Fulham’s second goal from a corner. Bobby De Cordova-Reid blasted his shot from close range after Arsenal failed to clear the ball. As for Arsenal, Bukayo Saka did not have to do much as Gabriel Martinelli’s strike came off of Bernd Leno and into the path of Saka.

The Englishman tapped it in the first time as Arsenal went 1-0 up within 5 minutes. However, the youngster was in the wrong as he lost possession, eventually leading to Fulham’s equalizer. The loss marked Arsenal’s second consecutive loss and third loss in their last 6 games. Arsenal are now 2 points from the top and fourth in the league table.
