Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli has ruled out the rumors about the signing of Manchester United star man Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming winter transfer window. As time passes, Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United looks dark, and now looks very unlikely that the five-time Ballon D’or winner will stay till the end of the season.
Ronaldo has been linked with a number of clubs since the start of the summer transfer window but the new manager, Erik Ten Hag convinced both the club and Ronaldo himself to stay another year and trust his process. But things have gone from bad to worse now as Ronaldo rarely gets a start in the big games in the Premier League with just having minutes at the Europa League.
Napoli is one of the clubs that Ronaldo has been linked with rumors suggesting that he is keen on a return to Serie A. Napoli director Giuntoli had confirmed that the rumors are fake and that they are satisfied with their current squad in an interview with DAZN. He added, “Ronaldo in January? We won’t sign any player in January. We don’t need to change anything in this team. We’re doing great and we’re not planning any signing, as of today.”
Napoli has looked absolutely unstoppable this season despite the sale of some star players in the summer transfer window.
Napoli has been on fire since the start of this season under new coach Luciano Spalletti and they currently are on top of the Serie A leading by 29 points, three clear of second-placed AC Milan. Napoli is still unbeaten in all competitions and also sits top of their Champions League group with 12 points and has beaten Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side as well as booking a place in the round of 16 stage.
The wonder duo of Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have impressed all the people across the globe with Osimhen bagging five goals in 9 appearances while Kvaratskhelia scoring seven goals in 15 appearances. Gio Simeone has also been a great addition to the squad and the club is not looking for any additional attacking options.
