Napoli’s €70 million signing Victor Osimhen told to “have a shower” by teammates during a training session

Osimhen and Spalletti

In a cruel turn of events, Luciano Spalletti, the manager of Napoli, ordered record signing Victor Osimhen off the practice field during an open training session.

The Serie A team staged a public practice session while they were in a training camp at Castel di Sangro in the Italian region of Abruzzo.

However, there was debate as Osimhen received his orders. The Nigerian international, who came from Lille for €70 million in 2020, was reportedly incensed by the official’s decision to not call a foul in his favor after being challenged by Leo Ostigard, another newcomer.

He vented, and his teammate and former Fulham player Andre Zambo Anguissa made an effort to calm him down. Although the 23-year-old was still furious, vicious Spalletti had had enough of his actions.

It is reported that the seasoned manager halted the training and instructed Osimhen, “You are talking too much, go and take a shower.” He did as instructed, but he didn’t stop fuming as he made his way back down to the changing rooms after leaving the field.

Following the practice, Napoli players posed for photos with fans and signed autographs, and Spalletti somehow wound up sporting a Pornhub hat.

In their opening preseason match, Napoli destroyed Anaune 10-0 before defeating Perugia 4-1. Prior to three matches against Spanish opponents in RCD Mallorca, Girona, and Espanyol, they will play the Turkish team Adana Demirspor in their upcoming match.

On August 15, they play away against Verona to open the new league season.
