Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 after a tumultuous departure from FC Barcelona. The Argentine’s arrival in the French capital sent shockwaves throughout Europe. However, despite an unbelievable trio of Neymar Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi, PSG failed to impress in the UEFA Champions League. Lionel Messi parted ways with the club in 2023, and his comments on the club haven’t been ‘positive’ to say the least.

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi opened up about Lionel Messi and his treatment of the club following his departure. Despite a commendable 67-goal contribution during his time at the club, neither Messi nor PSG seemed to be at their best.

As per the latest reports, another Barcelona teammate has caught the eye of Miami as the club lines up an offer to bring in the former Barca star. Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona’s most expensive signing, maybe on his way to the MLS.

The 31-year-old has endured quite the fall from glory after he departed from Liverpool. Once a crowd favorite at Anfield, Coutinho now finds himself kicking the ball in the Qatar Stars League for Al-Duhail SC.

Messi and Coutinho shared the dressing room at Barcelona for two and a half seasons, from 2018 to his loan move to Bayern Munich in 2019 and a little more afterward. It is understood that Coutinho shared a good relationship with Lionel Messi while at Barcelona, which was also evident from the former’s farewell message to Messi in 2021. He has accumulated 4 goals and an assist in 9 games for Al-Duhail.
