Luis Castro was announced as the new Al-Nassr manager last week. The Portuguese will have the job to achieve success with the Al Nassr side featuring Cristiano Ronaldo. The team will aim to better their 2nd-place finish in the Saudi Pro League. The manager recently praised his fellow countryman and called himself lucky to coach the Portuguese Maestro.

The manager was quizzed about the opportunity to coach Cristiano. He replied, “Of course, I am very happy to train a legend of Portugal and a player of his quality.” The former Botafogo Manager clearly holds Cristiano in great books.

Cristiano has scored 14 goals in 19 matches for the Al Nassr side. The prolific striker joined the Saudi side in January after an unceremonious departure from Manchester United. Cristiano is currently still on vacation while the Al Nassr outfit has started camp in Algarve.

Otavio, the Porto midfielder, has been linked with a transfer to Al-Nassr. The 28-year-old’s contract expires in two years, but the Saudi Arabian club has allegedly offered him a lucrative deal to accompany fellow Portuguese international Ronaldo in Luis Castro’s squad.

According to reports, Cristiano tried persuading the midfielder. He is said to have called Otavio to convince him. Otavio has an excellent rapport with Ronaldo, as seen by his defense of the Portugal captain in front of the media at the past World Cup.

Otavio has a £31 million release clause until July 15, which Al Nassr hopes to activate. However, the clause will be increased to £47m after that date. If the former Internacional star joins Al-Nassr, he could make about £12 million per year, which is five times his current salary at Porto.
