Neymar has recently been acquitted of every tax fraud case filed against him by the Brazilian company DIS, which owned 40% of his image rights at the time of his transfer to Barcelona in 2013. Removing all charges against him, the Spanish court in its verdict declared, “It has not been proven that there was a false contract or that DIS was intended to be harmed.”
As per reports, the Santos authorities have claimed position on Bartomeu, Sandro Rosell, and Neymar Jr to get imprisonment of 5 years. The player and the management from the sides have previously reportedly agreed upon a profit of 35m that the player’s former club would gain on his transfer to Barcelona, but that didn’t happen. The legal victory of Neymar comes days after the Brazil team was eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the quarterfinals.
The other defendants who were declared innocent include Neymar’s father, his mother – former Santos president Odilio Rodriguez and former Barcelona executives Sandro Rosell and Josep Bartomeu. However, DIS plans to appeal the decision and said, “DIS regrets that an opportunity has been lost to put a stop to certain corrupt practices in the world of Football that are inconceivable in other activities.”
It was reported that the Brazilian’s contract had some mysteries, due to which it happened. Both the club’s management and authorities have their different say on the issue and they must resolve the issue as the Brazillian player is a Paris player now and is in full condition to fight for it. Neymar’s move caused trouble to both Santos and Barcelona and a further appeal will seemingly be a no-harm to the player as he’s able to fight for the issue himself.
Neymar’s controversial move from Barcelona to PSG for a whopping amount
The famous move of Neymar Jr from the Spanish giants Barcelona to the Paris champions PSG in a whopping €222m deal. There’s no doubt in the performing ability and talent of the Brazilian the very first season at the club the prodigy proved he was with every penny.
The decision however became a sensational controversy, several football pundits have their viewpoints and opinions on the move considering it an anti-legacy or a cash grab opportunity that was grabbed by Neymar. The decision to leave the club which is history vise one of the two biggest clubs in the World was a little too shady. The loyalty to one club and its legacy went in vain.
The signing amount revolutionized the business aspect of the game as well, as the crazy spending nature became a phenomenon. The ridiculous amounts tend to destroy the spirit of the beautiful game as it leads players to places where they obviously deserve to be but definitely don’t belong, and so did the Neymar move proved.
