Brazilian icon Neymar Jr. shared a video displaying his distress during the rehabilitation process following a painful ACL surgery. He injured himself in a match against Uruguay back in October 2023. The Al-Hilal forward is set to be sidelined for the rest of the season due to an anterior cruciate ligament rupture and is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Neymar, the former Barcelona player, has been dealing with frequent injuries, keeping him sidelined for extended periods. In 2021, issues with his right ankle and foot caused him to miss games, including Brazil’s successful 2019 Copa America. This year, Neymar has played in only 17 matches for both club and country. His prolonged absence due to injuries is a setback for both Brazil and Al-Hilal, who were expecting strong performances from him.
Neymar sustained a ruptured ligament and was stretchered off during Brazil’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay in a 2026 World Cup qualifier last October. The Brazilian footballer shared an update on his journey, revealing the challenging nature of his rehabilitation process. In the video, Neymar was seen enduring intense sessions, at times expressing pain and crying out. Additionally, he shared a caption along with a video, as he admitted to ‘one month of crying and pain’.
Brazilian medical professionals advised Neymar to take his time with the intricate recovery process and urged him to avoid any unnecessary risks. Despite the injury setback, fans continued to show unwavering support for the player, emphasizing the importance of his triumphant return.
Neymar describes his ongoing injury as the ‘worst’
Former PSG forward, Neymar Jr. is currently dealing with a ligament injury, which is set to keep him out of the game for a prolonged spell. The Al-Hilal frontman described his current situation as the ‘worst’ and most challenging amid a career marked by physical problems.
The 31-year-old’s injury against Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier match left him in tears, as he was seen leaving the Estadio Centenario with assistance. This latest injury echoes the traumatic 2014 vertebral incident during the FIFA World Cup against Colombia, which sidelined him for a considerable period. Neymar has a long history of injuries, which include an ankle injury in 2022-23 which kept him out for 3 months, a metatarsal fracture in 2019 which kept him out for 80 days, and a hamstring injury in 2020 which sidelined him for over a month.
